If you're heading for the mountains to go skiing or snowboarding, please ensure that your rental car is equipped with Studless Snow Tires when you make your reservation.
*In some regions of Japan, Studless Snow Tires are standard equipment on vehicles.
*Hokkaido and the following prefectures and regions: Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Miyagi, Yamagata, Fukushima, Yamanashi, Nagano, Niigata, Toyama, Ishikawa, Fukui; Northern Kyoto (Nishi-Maizuru, Higashi-Maizuru, Fukuchiyama), Northern Hyogo (Toyooka Ekimae)
If you're departing from areas besides the above and heading to cold districts or mountainous regions, you can reserve Studless Snow Tires in advance on our Website. When selecting your vehicle, there will be an indication of which ones are equipped with Studless Snow Tires, so please choose from among those.
What are Studless Snow Tires?
These tires were developed for driving on snow and ice. Made of rubber that resists cold and hardening, their grooves are deeper than normal tires to prevent slipping, which makes them indispensable on snow-covered roads.
These tires can be used even when driving on roads without snow, so there is no need to change tires on the move.
Even in vehicles equipped with Studless Snow Tires, driving in snow is dangerous. Please exercise caution when driving on snow-covered roads.
How to Reserve Vehicles with Studless Snow Tires
When making your reservation, please choose a rental car with "Studless Snow Tires" indicated on the vehicle selection screen.
Please select a vehicle with "Studless Snow Tires" and click the [Select] button, then proceed to the next flow.
